Subcon 2015 – Vibrant Manufacturing Sector at its Best

At the beginning of June Kevin and I visited Subcon, one of the UK’s main contract and subcontract manufacturing shows, at the NEC in Birmingham. It was the first day of the show and there was a steady stream of visitors. Many of the stands were buzzing with live machining demonstrations. The exhibitors that we spoke with were pleased that most visitors were genuine industry professionals looking to do business. In the time that we were there, Kevin and I tried to visit as many exhibition stands as possible and were able to speak to some interesting exhibitors, including:

Oldham Engineering – who provide in-house coded fabrication, medium-heavy CNC machining and complex assembly and testing:

Roechling – who are innovators in plastic processing, with three divisions high performance plastics, automotive plastics and technical plastic parts:

Finishing Techniques – who has brought together stream finishing, disc finishing, drag finishing, centrifugal tumbling and vibratory to provide a one-stop shop for precision metal component manufacturers:

Wallwork Group – one of our clients so we spent a considerable amount of time on the stand. The company specialises in heat treatment, hard coatings, vacuum brazing and heat resistant castings. During the show the Wallwork Group highlighted the latest metal hardening and micro fine coating processes, technical support and rapid turnaround services.
